Don't make..

promises you cannot keep. Tomorrow we are playing in a golf tournament organised by the son of the owners of this restaurant. It is one of our favourite restaurants and Mindi (the son, he is Lithuanian) has adopted us as his surrogate parents. His father lives in Florida with his new wife, and his Mum lives in Bury.

Anyway. Mindi has organised this tournament and there are a 1000 euros worth of prizes up for grabs. The manager of the golf course we are playing at promised Mindi that he could get 'at least' 30 people to play, and the golf pro said he could get 'at least' 20 to play. We have got 21 people from our society playing, it's not a cheap day, it's 60 euros each, but for that you get the game, a buggy, and there is a meal at the restaurant in the evening, all you want to eat and drink for 20 euros.

Guess what, there are only 27 people playing, the golf pro and the golf course manager have not bothered to try and get people to enter, so Mindi is well out of pocket.

Not only have we organised 21 players but in the evening we have 34 people coming just for the meal. It annoys me when people promise great things, then do not deliver.

I'm sure we will have a grreat day.
