Sparrow*

Matt and Tim were going to come up to help us celebrate John's Big Birthday in ten days, but with great reluctance we called them and said we thought we should postpone their visit indefinitely. This will be the fifth family birthday that we will be replacing with a Zoom call. Lockdown has been imposed, lifted and reimposed in California. Sonoma County has been added to the list of 'high risk' counties. Things in California are looking more dire than they did back in March when the virus was raging in New York  but the picture has changed here now. It seems to us that in addition to washing hands, wearing masks and staying outside (all of which we could probably manage) staying put should be added to the list.

The list of things I have done todays a very short one.
1. Drink coffee and read scan the newspaper (10 min)
2. Remove puckered border(s) on Stephanie's quilt (21/2 hours)
3. Pilates Zoom class (50 min.)
4. Lunch...a blueberry yogurt smoothie which I drank while waiting for a
few birds to present themselves. I think this little fellow is a sparrow
but it doesn't seem to match any of the sparrow pictures in my bird
book. I was fascinated by the claws and the fact that it can even walk
on a flat surface since they are obviously designed for wrapping round
    a each.  (10 min)
5. Replace border(s) on quilt (21/2 hours)

The quilt is finito...ready to be delivered to the quilter tomorrow morning.
I am also finito but will try to get back to regular service tomorrow.
