Rowan or Mountain Ash

Scottish folklore believed that chopping down a rowan tree would bring bad luck as they are strong symbols of protection. Red is seen as a protective colour.The berries were thought to protect against enchantment and witchcraft. I am waiting for a vaccine to protect us all from Covid 19. The trials seem to be going well at the moment on the brave volunteers.
