Constant in the Change

I’ve missed this girl!! So thankful to spend a day with this brave and beautiful friend of mine. Sarah’s been in my life for as long as I can remember, but has studying paediatric nursing in London the past couple of years - so time together in person is a rare treat. But with a heart as compassionate and built for connection as hers, it’s the sort of profession she was made for. Plus she’s coming home in August, so it won’t be too long till the next time! (She’s started making plans for her dog’s birthday party on the 31st).

When I look back on our friendship, in some ways it’s changed a lot. God has worked miracles in her life. And we’ve both been learning lessons, having our perspectives changed...but in a deeper way, it has been a wonderful constant. Each time we’re together, no matter how long it’s been since the last time, there is a closeness that remains unchanged. What a joy to be able to pick up where we left off, without small talk or re-getting to know each other. And yet to appreciate that God is working, that He has been changing us, and to see how that loving process has been unfolding in her.

Gratefuls:

- That God gives us constants to hold onto amidst the changes in life. Like who He is, and His love for us. Even though we change, and our perception of Him changes, He never does.
- How He makes His love so tangible through others.
- A beautiful day, to walk with Him in the sun
- Seeing George again outside Tesco, that the past few nights have been warmer for him
- For the life of this precious girl, that I don’t take for granted.
