On the water

A couple of days ago, with the weather forecast looking reasonable, I suggested we take the kayaks out over the weekend and we decided today would be best.
We set off late morning, after our online service, and arrived at Loch Faskally for a picnic lunch, pleasnatly surprised there was plenty of room to park. As well we weren't any later as members of a canoe club arrived with several vehicles plus trailers.
As we hadn't been out for a year (suitable weather and days didn't coincide after our holiday last year) we headed upcurrent first and explored a bit, and saw dippers, kingfisher, swallows, sand and house martins, and various water birds.
Then down a bit until we'd been out about an hour, which was enough, and the wind was a bit blustery and the current more as the water was being let through the power station at the dam. T
I then had a short run in the woods and Mr Rat had a walk.
