Kelburn Park Timber Ponds

Over visiting family in Port Glasgow for the day. On the way back I thought the light was looking pretty special near the Timber Ponds. It's quite a history lesson in shipbuilding on the Clyde. The sticks are the remains of timber ponds that were used to season the wood before it was used to build wooden ships in the 18th and 19th Centuries. In the background is Port Glasgow where they are supposed to build ships made of metal... not very well at the moment it must be said.
