Staddle Stone

Every day is a school day and today I learnt that this is known as a Staddle Stone or rather it is a mini one. These were used a long time ago to support Granaries, hay stacks etc above the ground to keep out vermin and dampness.
Ours are purely decorative lining the avenue to stop vehicles from going on the grass.
