Rain Geese

A remarkably calm day at the south end of Shetland - flat seas, no wind - and on the one occasion when a shower blew through in the late afternoon (see the extra).

The blip was taken first thing this morning - a pair of gorgeous red-throated divers in Quendale Bay.

These are called rain geese on Shetland  - because their call was supposed to herald rain.
