A National Trust Day Out

Whilst we were based in Brighton we took the opportunity to visit 2 National Trust gardens that we hadn’t seen before :-)

Firstly we visited Sheffield Park which is acres of beautiful gardens designed initially by Capability Brown surrounding lakes filled with water lilies.
This made for some wonderful pictures with the trees reflected in the water.
We promised that we’d try to return in different seasons, especially the Autumn, to see the change in colours of the trees & planting.
Little Miss was so impressed that she declared this was her new favourite National Trust property!

After that we had a short stop off in Haywards Heath and then travelled onto Nymans where we enjoyed a picnic in the grounds in front of the ruins of the house which a fire destroyed in 1947.

Not wanting to dash back to Brighton we had a drive through the countryside ending in an evening drink in a pub garden in Henfield which lead to a delicious pub dinner ;-D
