Impatience

One of the many things I am waiting for is the ripening of gooseberries in order to make some jam.  According to books, they should have been ready quite some time ago.  There was a swafly attack which removed much foliage and that didn't help the ripening process.  But they are generally hard.  However some have been removed to make a test jar.  We shall see.
