Serendipity

It rained all morning and continued into a mostly dull afternoon.  The sun finally struggled through the clouds just as it was setting and a hint of pink lit up the sky.  I had no blip up to that point so I grabbed the camera and started up the garden path to take this very insubstantial sunset when I saw a movement on the patio.  I dashed back inside to get the flashgun and to lock Purdy in and returned to find this little woodmouse wandering about.  After I had taken a few frames I carefully scooped him up in my hands and took him up to our log pile where he had plenty of opportunity to hide.
