Common blue

We saw lots of these butterflies on the isle of Portland today which we walked all around for the next section of our South West Coast Path walk. I don’t think they are so common as the name suggests.
We had a difference of opinion as to what the carving in the first extra is. There are a few disused quarries on the island where people have carved the stone into various objects. The second extra shows the walking we have in store for us in seven weeks’ time and if you look closely there are seven cruise ships sheltering just outside Weymouth harbour in shot. A lovely days’ walk and a shopping visit to the supermarket on the way home where everyone was wearing a mask. People who didn’t have a mask were being turned away my husband noticed as he was waiting outside for me. 12 miles, we will sleep well tonight.
