Merguez

Lunch with Leigh during which we lounged on the grass in front of King’s College. I was clutching a merguez wrap purchased from the market. Merguez is a term I didn’t know and is apparently a spicy lamb or beef sausage originating in North Africa. Although the merguez in this wrap was ‘chicken rotisserie’. Perhaps they have a creative interpretation of these things at Cambridge market.

More culinary delights in the evening with a braai at Jonno and Alicky’s house. Jonno is South African, so he’s very efficient at a braai. We were excited about the ‘BBQ cheeses’: halloumi grilled over the open flame and feta melted with honey inside foil. Monumentally good.
