Fire! Fire!

Or not? Excitement in the town this morning as this sped up the High Street, lights flashing, siren blaring and horn honking, and screeched to a halt outside. No idea why, but there didn't appear to be a fire anywhere.

A trip into Berwick to pick up an order from the Green Shop this afternoon. The car parks were full, so we parked on the other side of the Old Bridge and walked in. Very few people around, though. On the way back home, we stopped at the retail park as MrM needed hinges from the DIY store. Also acquired some door handles for the kitchen door, and some much-needed new gardening gloves - mine developed a large hole a couple of weeks ago. Then to a well-known food store, where we treated ourselves to a dine-at-home meal with wine.

It's the first day when we are required to wear face masks in shops, though some of us have been doing it for a while. What is it with middle-aged men and masks?! MrM moaned and groaned his way round the shops as if he had been asked to do something terrible! Other than that, today's shopping expedition was relatively stress free. Apart from the cumulative stench of four different hand sanitisers - we applied some on entering every shop, as requested, but each had a different 'perfume'. Yuck!
