Day one

Here is the tortoise which showed it’s face emerging from its egg yesterday. It took about 14 hours to completely emerge and was at once mobile and in search of an adventure. It was soon joined by two more and so we are now the proud owners of a trio. We are the foster parents as when the tortoises are large enough to go outdoors they may return to our son's house and join the band of  tortoises there. We already have two Greek tortoises which are now enjoying the garden and have settled into a routine of sleeping, walking between the several hides and eating!
