Marie-Louise Salon

The brother and sister who ran this salon won the lottery in the early 1980s and set up Our Lady of Snows, a soup kitchen near Central Station with table service. I used to walk past the salon, and the white Our Lady of Snows van parked outside, but never ventured in. It was a blue-rinse sort of place. The salon closed about ten years ago, and eventually became a bit derelict. Now it’s a modern Turkish restaurant.

The original facade is heritage-listed, as are a few features inside.

Thanks for hosting Marlieske.
