Auchingarrich.

We went today, to Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre. It was a nice drive through lovely Perthshire countryside & we saw a huge bird of prey on journey, which definitely wasn’t a buzzard! My eldest thought it was an eagle but I was driving so didn’t get to have a really good look (not that I can claim to be an aficionado on rare birds!)

When we got to our destination, I was really pleased we’d chosen it; we’d joked about getting there & being faced with the stark realisation that we were surrounded by miserable looking monkeys in confined spaces.

This was not the case at all; the place was clean, very open & the enclosures were not overcrowded. There was a clear commitment to ongoing conservation evident through their approach & each area had been really thoughtfully designed for each species.

This thoughtful design had even been extended to meeting the demands of the common species of exuberant 5 year old with the adventure playground.

A good day had by all.
