Took the overnight bus to stay with my friend Jacque in Berlin.

After she finished work and I‘d had a long nap we went to the most incredibly cheap fruit and veg market. 2 kg tomatoes for a euro, and I even bought a crate of avocados for 50cent. We made burritos and I was put in charge of making guacamole for our guests. The problem was the guests came from Chile and Ecuador, and the box of avocados for 50cent was, shall we say, sub-par. Alas, we ate everything and drank plenty of wine.

They are part of the anti-colonial feminist group here in Berlin, and it was interesting and challenging to hear about the racism they experience and the differences of the feminist struggle when you aren’t white. Let’s just say it’s not all about the pay gap! They have some podcasts at internationalistalliance (some are Spanish some are English). It was a good intro to the weekend which revolves around these themes...
