Salad days

Very hot - hence lunching inside. I spent the morning clearing out weeds that manage to put on a foot of growth during the week despite no rain and scorching hot weather.

The afternoon was for kitchen work, though I didn’t get much done: meringues and a couple of jars of cherry compote (from Veronica’s recipe).
