Day one

The weather was not good at eight o'clock, but we could leave sometime after nine when the rain stopped. It was not cold and the temperature rose to 30 degrees within a few hours.
It was a struggle for me to get to the Haute-Fanges. Actually it is on top of the Plateau des Hautes-Fagnes and that is what made it difficult. But after 70 kilometres we arrived in Trois Ponts very tired and very sweaty. We had several stops on the road next to the Francorchamps racing track, because we had several perfect views on the activities.

On my blip of the day you see the once popular with racing fanatics, Francorchamps Racing Hotel. It is permanently closed now and is looking very desolate. The windows are boarded up and the pool is dry. In 1920 the foundation was laid for one of the most legendary race tracks in the world. A pity, I think it is a beautiful building.
