Small world

There is a well known Spanish expression, “el mundo es un pañuelo” which essentially means the world is a handkerchief. In our idiom it translates 'its a small world'
One Spanish speaker suggested that the idea is "that we might all be on different parts of the fabric but if you fold it in enough different ways we’ll all meet.". Like 3 degrees of separation.
This interconnectedness falls under extreme stress in times of tension.. Covid 19, BLM etc.
We need to display resilience at such times and recall the idiom's true meaning. When one hurts, all hurt. When one gains freedom, we all grow taller!
