10:20 Dad's Funeral

We all gathered at Chrisyllian this morning for Dad's funeral, a graveside service only due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

We drove the short distance to the cemetery and the minister conducted a lovely service, the eulogy written by Tracey & myself, describing Dad's life and how he lived it to the full.

Each of the 20 of us were able to say a personal goodbye with a rose dropped onto the coffin.

It started to rain but thankfully we were able to complete the service before returning to Chrisyllian to spend the rest of the day celebrating Dad's life.

Nothing prepares you for days like today, but I know Dad would have wanted us to enjoy sharing the stories from his life with smiles on our faces.

By early evening I was alone with Mum after everyone else left for home. It is these moments when everything is quiet that I find the most difficult, but I must move forward one day at a time.
