To Wreak Havoc On Our Brassicas

Lots of conversations and deliberations about the potential impact of the introduction of 2 weeks quarantine for anyone returning to the UK from Spain from today. We are due to travel to France in just under 3 weeks. There is no option to cancel our holiday without losing what we have already paid and France is not at the increased infection rate as Spain, so all we can really do is sit tight and see how the situation evolves.

We planted some nasturtiums in a flower bed outside our back door about 6 years ago. Every year they return full of flowers and their distinctive leaves and we give them no care or help in any way. The only problem is that they offer a lovely spot for the cabbage white butterflies to lay their eggs and they are rather too close to our vegetable patch for comfort. When we do spot them we ‘re-home’ them into the field next door and hope they don’t find their way back to wreak havoc on our brassicas.
