Yesterday's job, part two

I have a horrid feeling that when we moved into the house we had a shelf here.

It's the stairs down to the kitchen ( which is in the basement level of a house built on a slope ).

As I had leftover wood from the windowsill and a lack of storage in the house, we now have a shelf back in the same place there was one 15 years ago.

Oh well, at least I think mine looks better.

Now just need to resist the urge to go travelling everytime I go into the kitchen.
