The Pace of Being Known

"And it’s not boring. It’s only boring if you lack imagination.

In fact, it’s fascinating - because human beings are endlessly fascinating. And you learn by going deeper, rather than by the relentless quest for shallow novelty, which is how our culture lives.”
- N.T. Wright

Sitting down to watch the Godspeed film with Grandma, Conor, Mum and Dad (feet/legs shown left to right). For the second time today...and could easily watch it again! Thank you amandoAlentejo for the recommendation. So much to think about and learn from this man's journey. About changing the way we see time. Learning with help, to show ourselves the grace that others show to us. Listening to the voice that brings freedom, rather than the one that accuses. And overcoming the fear of being known, by knowing others and allowing them to know us. A year ago, I definitely lacked pride in and gratefulness for the stability I've had, always having lived under the same roof, in the same corner of the world. But after a year of novelty, now coming home to a place where I know and am known, I'm beginning to understand that part of my problem was simply a lack of imagination!

Gratefuls:
- Being with my Grandma - my housemate for all of last year! I've missed her! Her warmth, wisdom, strength, faith, humour...it's lovely to be together again.
- FaceTime with Rebekah, and the thought that she'll be home in a few weeks!
- Time to walk with, and listen to God. Peaceful places to do that, like Stormont Park and the Comber Greenway.
- The fullest fridge I've seen in a long time!!
- Living someplace where you're likely to bump into people you know.
- That human beings are endlessly fascinating. Let alone the God who created them! That we could never become bored of getting to know Him.
