About to turn

Tennessee Rainbow

With thunder rumbling all around and the sky darkening, W. and I really thought we were in for it. We'd gone out for a walk in the nearby town of Hendersonville after running an errand for mother-in-law Ellie. The thunder was real, but the approaching roar suddenly materialized as a freight train through the trees alongside the trail. That was pretty fun - for the next ten minutes we walked west alongside the train rattling east. Central Pacific, Northern Pacific, Union Pacific, Burlington Northern, and loads of other cars. The storm passed us by as well and left this rainbow.

Tomorrow is our last day here; on Thursday the kids and I will head home. Sat with Harry for a long time tonight, along with daughter I. and niece Josie. He is weak but hanging on, and he still enjoys making his granddaughters laugh. W. is staying over there tonight, and he will stay on for the time being.

Greatly enjoyed taking niece Ellie to coffee this morning. Next week Josie starts back to high school (all distance learning) and Ellie returns to college in Boone, North Carolina. Our kids don't start back til September 8.
