Couldn't sleep last night. After a while I started to think about getting up and perhaps make the most of the being awake and get out for a sunrise photo.  Haven't taken a landscape image in what seems an age.

After more minutes of just laying in bed I decided to be decisive and get up. That was about 3am.

I had a location in mind. LG and I had been out exploring a few days ago.

Todays Blip was taken just a few miles along the coast towards Bridport near the Abbotsbury Swannery. The chosen spot overlooks Chesil beach and has Portland as a backdrop.

If you think there is something odd about the image there is. It's what I think you might call a time stack. In this case the first element of the image was taken pre dawn. Other images were taken to capture car trails and the changing light as dawn broke and light washed over the land towards St Catherines Chapel.

I think the resulting blend works well and am pleased I dragged myself out of bed.

I plan to return with LG, hopefully this evening. A nice walk along the coastal path and a sunset shot would finish the day off nicely.
