La vida de Annie

Cielo nublado.

New Normality day 39.
An overcast but humid day with a few welcome splashes of rain which evaporated immediately.
Trying not to think about the pressure from British would-be holidaymakers and local businesses to have the Balearic Islands excluded from the UK quarantine measures. Admittedly there have been far fewer cases here than on the mainland, but the islands are tiny in comparison, and the population, outside the tourist season, also small. We have endured an incredibly hard lockdown period to try to eradicate the virus, and the numbers were down to no new cases for over a month. Now tourists are here and so is the virus. I was already worried about Covid Hospital being established in holiday apartments 2 km away, but now I hear that UVACs* were seen at a house in this road! Maybe I'm overreacting but it makes me so ANGRY!

*The new flying units of attention to COVID-19 (UVAC) began to operate in Mallorca and Menorca in March. These are teams created ad hoc to attend to confirmed cases and those under investigation for possible infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. They act in the domicile of the affected people whenever the circumstances of the case - conditions of the patient and the domicile - allow it.
