POND LIFE

I headed for the Woodland Park today and found this amazingly co-operative Common Hawker and impressed myself with what my little Lumix produced. The full dragon in extras. Before I saw it, I got very excited by some Efts* (for you crossword fans) in the muddy pool I was peering precariously into and also what I'm fairly sure were a couple of Elvers, though I'm willing to be corrected (one very blurry one, along with an eft in extras). There was a trickle of fresh water coming into the pool and I watched them swim back up it and disappear into the reeds. Back in the pool by the car park one of the terrapins (extra) was sunning itself before slipping back under. I'm glad I went.
