Dull and dreary

What a horrible day. Weather app is still showing lots of little sunshine symbols and 25c for tomorrow but we have our doubts. Ann's just had to put a cardi on and we've had the lights on in the flat since about 5pm. Today is definitely not very summer like!

It wasn't actually raining on my afternoon walk but it certainly wasn't very pleasant. We trekked along by the canal. Haven't been there for ages and two things struck us as being a bit strange:

1 The electronic sign that tells us how many cyclists have used the path today said 105 (at about 3.30pm), which is pretty much normal. Thought it would be lower seeing as a lot of people are still working from home. Having said that, we only saw two cyclists on the section of path that we walked on which is very unusual. Normally they're whizzing past us every few mins. In fact today I could probably have gone 'off lead' on the canal path but because Ann's so used to loads of cyclists sharing the path with us, she always keeps me on my lead. Booohooo.

2 We could actually see the bottom of the canal (and it's not very deep). We're assuming that's because the barges aren't going anywhere so aren't churning up the water?? We've never seen the bottom of the canal before.

And now we're just waiting for our friend, Susi, to come round for dinner. In normal times, Ann & Susi take it in turns to go to each other's house once a week for dinner. I love Susi. She always makes a fuss of me even though she has two cats. May be things are getting back to normal after all.

And in other news......................... Ann has actually got a 'Meet & Greet' to do tomorrow afternoon. She's not had any work for more than 4 months and as she's self-employed, you cannot believe how happy this makes her. Yay!!!
