"With silent lips."

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me ....."

Emma Lazarus (1849 - 1887)

This thing in todays picture called "Lucy" was found and homed by Isabelle. Abandoned with the other "tempest-tost" refuse on a Munich street about 6 years ago, and possibly qualifying for the description above.

Since then she has slept (and gained a gold medal) for the German Olympic Sleeping Team, so she shouldn't be tired.

With those eyes, her thespian talents certainly include acting "poor". This look takes on a particular intensity in the presence of food.

She doesn't huddle anymore, she now sprawls with confidence. Generally occupying the place I want to sprawl first!

She certainly breathes free, by barking at most things that are bigger than her.

.... and if you could see her hips, she certainly isn't wretched anymore.

We wouldn't have her any other way ....
