Another sugar story

This is a fridge cake which some might call Rocky Road Cake.
 
I used a very old recipe, probably from my mother, so could be 50-60 years old or more.
 
It is from an age before the Sugar Police were formed.
 
I see that we in the UK are going to be financially assisted to take up cycle riding, with handouts of money, which could/should be spent relieving poverty, not encouraging more cyclists to drive through stop streets and red lights.
 

This recipe has so much sugar and butter in it, the Obesity Police would give me a whole Tour de France cycling team on my own.
