Ferns and Bokeh

Only looks good Large on Black

As well as a love of Bitingly sharp lenses, I also am a fan of classic glass. Kind of like the sound of vinyl over CDs.

My latest purchase arrived today - a lens manufactured by Meyer-Optik in the 1960s. It has the most gorgeous bokeh, especially at f1.8.

The only trouble at f1.8 is a very shallow depth of field. In this shot I couldn't get the ferns in the foreground all in focus. So this is a focus stack of 6 images to get sufficient DoF in the foreground with the full-aperture bokeh in the background.
