Typical Suffolk

We had such a good time with Ruth and John. While we we’re out yesterday they sawed off tree branches so we’d not scrape our roof getting out.

We were late getting away as we had coffee with them and more chat. We parked in the sports centre car park in Debenham and walked to see Nigel and ex-colleague of mine and his wife now also a good friend. Sadly she has developed memory problems and other issues which is upsetting for her and worrying. Her sharp sense of humour is still biting though so we had some laughs over our coffee. We finally got on the road at 1pm and are now bowling up the A1 for home feeling very hot. The aircon has never worked and usually it doesn’t matter but it is quite noisy with the windows open.

It’s been great to spend time with lovely old friends and have laughs and fun but upsetting to see them with complex health issues. Particularly sad when most are 10 years younger than we are, were fit (in Jenny’s case, Olympic standard dressage competitor), worked at staying so, and had so much to look forward to.
