Hummingbird in the Sun

The flying circus in the backyard has toned it down just a bit from a week or two ago, when we had five birds in the air on just about any given moment. On this morning, I saw three birds, though, and they were still having lots of fun.

The big lilac bush that was host to several nests of baby birds already this year is right next to the big red monarda blooms. So it provides several nice spots for sitting and observing the action in the yard. This little one took some time to enjoy a moment in the sun.
