The Dawn

There’s an article about Louisa Lawson in the current issue of The Monthly. I knew a bit about her already - feminist, suffragist, social reformer, poet, writer and mother of poet Henry Lawson - but not that there was a reserve named after her in Marrickville. In the middle is a mosaic by Cynthia Turner celebrating Louisa’s feminist magazine, The Dawn (1888-1905). Sadly, both the reserve and the mosaic are a little rundown.

Thanks for hosting Marlieske.
