Hobbs's Run

Sublime Point

Haven't been out to Sublime Point in a few years now. It is quite a remarkable vantage point in the Jamison Valley near Leura. The lookout  sits on what is effectively a tall column of rock, tethered to the escarpment by a footbridge. From it you get a 270 degree view ... not for those who suffer badly from vertigo.

The safety rails (while sturdy enough) are looking very tired and must be among the oldest in the Blue Mountains. Even the platform itself is an adventure - which is no more nor less than the natural rockface. When moving about, one needs to watch one's footing very carefully. The holes, ridges and puddles can be treacherous. I have posted two extras to give you a better idea what it's like.
