unusual!

I found this moth sitting on a box beside my moth trap late last night, so I quickly potted it. When I looked at it in daylight this morning, I was surprised to find it was a rather tatty Humming bird hawk moth, a moth I have seen often, but never in my garden and never in my moth trap!  So this rather tatty sad little specimen is a huge tick for me.

Grateful today for - even after years of trapping the odd moth turns up to really surprise me!
