Kincraig Point

We walked from Elie to Ruddons Point and back on a warm sunny day.

Elie was packed, and we were lucky to find somewhere to park. The beaches were busy. I think of Elie as a quiet village, and I have never seen it like that. Perhaps we haven't been there in mid summer before, or else it's the staycation effect.

This is one of the gun emplacements on Kincraig Point. There were two naval guns here, and a third emplacement was left empty. According to an information panel, the guns were never needed, except to fire a blank round to stop an Italian cargo ship that attempted to free the Forth after Italy entered the war in 1940.
