A sign of the times

Usually in the 3 weeks of the Edinburgh Fringe the population of the city increases 5 fold to nearly 3 million people. That’s the case in a usual year, but as we know things are different this year, and there’s no fringe.

Went into the city to see what it was like, and yes, there are tourists around, but significantly down and there was a strange vibe. What is upsetting is the number of closed shops and restaurants, but I suppose what can you expect when the life blood of a city, tourism, is taken away.

We live in strange times!

Back home to peaceful and familiar East Lothian
