DERELICT SUNDAY

On a beautiful sunny day why would I post a blip of a boarded up, derelict building? Because this is our United States Postal Service local Post Office.
In a few weeks 60% or more of the voters in our city will receive their
VOTE-BY-MAIL ballots for the Presidential Election on Nov.3.
There has been speculation that our president plans to interfere with this process, by impeding the postal service.  The Washington Post has reported that employees at the USPS have seen backlogs & are worried that "Trump's lackey in charge",  a top donor, is trying to mess things up just in time for the election. Trump's lackeys are experts in that.

When I saw this Post Office all boarded up & the parking lot blocked off,
I became concerned. It has never been an architectural beauty, but the windows have been boarded up for at least a year.  What is it like inside & will they be prepared for the  onslaught of MAIL-IN-BALLOTS that will be arriving soon?  I am not interested in any wacky conspiracy theories, but this looks rather suspicious.

There is good news:  we have another post office across town that is not as busy.  And there are other, maybe better, places to drop off ballots, including a kiosk near the library.  Maybe my husband, zimmt54, & I
will take a drive to our county clerk's office & hand it to the person who counts the votes. Maybe we will head over to the beach after, & have a picnic.

On the way home, we can buy a bottle of champagne for election night,
when that BIG BLUE WAVE washes away Trump & his corrupt cronies.

PS:  This is my last political rant for awhile.
Thank you for tolerance.
