Bevern Castle

...near Holzminden, a fine example of Weser Renaissance. While M. dealt with the nursing administration, I had time to sneak around the nicely restored castle in the middle of the village. After the autochthonous Münchhausen family had become extinct in early 18th c., the house found use in various institutions, among others a warehouse, a hat factory, and a house of correction. Nowadays there are a library, an archive and a music hall inside.
