Have Camera Will Travel

Last day

Northumberland day 5.

Today we visit the historical town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

We meander along  the town walls taking in the sights as we go. Passing the old barracks and the magazine building where they stored the gunpowder they used to keep the marauding Scots at bay.

Further on we look out towards  the three bridges that span the river Tweed.

As we carried on we came across this beautiful “ red admiral “ butterfly who was quite happy to sit and pose for me, before we dropped back down to the road we have a view of the high street and the 18th century town hall building.

No picnic today as we planned to have lunch at the Lindisfarne Inn, (should have booked). plan B. fish and chips at the Bamburgh Castle Inn at  Seahouses. Thanks to “Rishi” (the Chancellor ) we had a nice big discount .

We are heading home tomorrow. A huge thank you for your kind stars and hearts during my trip.
