Formation Practice

Today was the first round of the Floating Formation competition for the lady mallards.  Cheered on by their mates, the ladies headed for the starting line looking pretty good.  Their spring training was quite intense so they are expected to medal easily against the lady mergansers who haven't even shown up at the venue yet.  The Pacific Northwest venue is still plagued by water quality problems but these plucky ladies weren't deterred.

PNW Stadium is already agog with excitement for the upcoming Heron Camouflage event due to begin tomorrow.  Since this event is not affected by water quality issues it will begin as scheduled.  There are several heron expected to participate but most of them are hiding at the moment so we'll have to see who does or doesn't show up.  If they really shine in this event we'll never see them.

As a judge this year I'm overwhelmed by the competitions at other venues.  There are some truly amazing things going on and I strongly urge folks to check the AOG tags for updates.
