SOD POODLES

These are common Prairie Dogs photographed at Roosevelt National Park. This one seems to be feasting on a Cottonwood leaf. This particular colony was many acres large in wide open, no trees around, space. There wasn't much there that I could see they would feed on...but the Sod Poodles were everywhere. Hundreds of them. I'm sure the local hawks and eagles and coyotes found this "restaurant" to their liking.

Lots of wildlife to be seen in the park. Bison are everywhere (see extra) and one must be careful passing them on the road. They are notoriously cranky and can turn on you or your car in an instant. Bison could put a hurt on you for sure.
