Portmeirion

The weather wasn't any better this morning with driving rain and gale force winds.

We therefore decided to pack up and go home early.

On the way we called in to see Portmeirion village which was built in 1925 by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis.

It is a bit of a pastiche copy of an Italian village and it was worth visiting but to be honest I thought it was all a bit tasteless.

Its main claim to fame is that it was the location where the 1960s series 'The Prisoner' was filmed.   I must admit to never having seen the programme.
