Canals and Bridges

Quite a common sight in the Polderland of the West of the Netherlands, this is; towbridges across the canal in order to get to your home and house.
This is one of the canals in the polder that stores the waters detracted from the peatsoils; detracting the waters from these soils makes them settle and sink down, what's below the sea-level in the West of our country... hence the dykes and the mills, the typical Dutch landmarks.

For the record: we had a wonderful sunny Summerly day!
and on Crete babygirl Louiza is born and welcomed in the family of our friends
