Acknowledgement

A super day- firstly at SeniorNet for a talk on Internet banking, security etc - I didn’t learn anything new, but it was good to know I was up to date.

This afternoon, Jill and I went to a local rest home for their Awards Ceremony where they acknowledge staff achievements. This year, they wanted to also acknowledge Jill’s volunteering over Christmas when the home experienced an outbreak of Norovirus. Jill volunteered to go every day , gown and mask up, and then clean door handles, railings, keyboards etc - no resident contact, but cleaning surfaces that staff were too busy to clean. It left the staff able to care for the residents. Jill has to come home shower, and wash all her clothes after her daily work. They were so grateful to her. She wasn’t looking for acknowledgement but she was given it. I was very proud!
