Day 137 Dandelion

Today's offering is one of three plant supports that I've just bought, with decorative heads that look like dandelions.  I've bought other plant supports from this company and their special feature is that they arrive 'ready to rust'.  Made of solid steel, within the year they will take on a rusty appearance and blend with the garden.  I bought these and three of another design to support the cosmos given to us by Mr MC's brother.  These have grown to be extraordinarily tall this year and do need a bit of help to stay upright.
This afternoon I went to visit my friend H, where we enjoyed a lovely afternoon in her garden, chatting over coffees in the shade of her (enviable) gleditsia tree..  This evening we had a takeaway chinese dinner courtesy of daughter #1 and her partner: not very SW but delicious.
Many thank to Ingeborg for her continued hosting.  There is no special theme this week as it is the first Thursday in the month.

Today marks the 75th anniversary of the dropping of the world's first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan.  A second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki three days later.  The devastating loss of life was not just instant but continued for days, weeks and months afterwards as a result of radiation sickness.  They are the only nuclear bombs ever to have been dropped outside testing and one hopes that it remains that way.
