Kinpescar Common

Jenny and I found a new walk today, starting from Bampton just west of Shap.
We walked along the River Eden which was beautiful, the banks are fenced from stock and covered in wild flowers. Pepper had a swim in the tranquil water.
Then over a scary Troll Bridge which Pepper very bravely crossed in the lead, though we could see her legs were quaking!
The path winds up quite steeply through sheep grazing until a last climb takes you to the top of the scar and a wonderful view across to the Haweswater Valley.
It was pretty breezy on the top, but a gentle slope all the way back to the village.
We had coffee from the village shop which was welcome.
It’s a really good walk, not too taxing and well signposted.
